Curtain Walls
Self-supporting glass and aluminium facades with soundproofing and thermal insulation properties are commonly called “curtain walls”, they are used both vertically, horizontally, with positive or negative slope, but also for roofs (skylights, domes).
Curtain walls are an easy way to “clothe” a building. There are several types of curtain walls, this being the classic type in which an aluminium profile is seen both horizontally and vertically, or semi-structural in which this profile is seen only horizontally, or structurally where no profile is seen on the outside.
